Boris Cipan


He is born in 1918 in Ohrid. He graduated in Belgrade from the faculty of Architecture in 1941 and from 1945 to 1949 works at the construction operative. He is the founder and the director of the National institute for protection of monuments of culture (1949-1959). From 1949 to 1983 he works as a part-time and full time professor at the Architectural-civil engineering faculty in Skopje where in 1969/70/71 he was the dean. Mr. Cipan worked with scientific research and made a number of architectural projects.
In the sphere of conservation of the objects of architectural heritage, the most important ones that he made preparation and conservation are: the Antique city Stobi, Daut-Pasha hamam and Kurshumli An in Skopje, St. Sophia church in Ohrid and St. Panthelemon in Nerezi, Skopje etc.  
From the architectural projects the most important are: court buildings in Stip, Veles and Bitola (1956); Macedonian Academy of science and art (MANU) in Skopje (1976); Huckaback factory in Delcevo (1959); a great number of individual family houses in Ohrid.
For his fruitful work he won the following awards:


1977 – 11ti Oktomvri for annual achievement
1977 – Borba, for the MANU building
1978 – 7mi Noemvri, lifetime achievement
1983 – 11ti Oktomvri, lifetime achievement
1990 – Andreja Damjanov, from the Alliance of architects of Macedonia (SAM)

Jone Jankoski


He is born in Struga in 1981. He is a student at the Faculty of Architecture in Skopje where since 2008 he works as a skilled collaborator in the lectures of Architectural studio ½ with the professors Mitko Hadzi-Pulja and Minas Bakalchev at the first year of studies. Since 2006 he works an architectural practice, where during 2007/2008 at the archaeological site Plaoshnik in Ohrid in the frameworks of the project “restoration of St. Kliment’s University”, he takes part in the making of the architectural terrain documentation.
He has made a number of architectural projects in the frame of his education and independent architectural work where the most important are:
International contest for making conceptual solution of superstructure-reforming of the third floor of GTC in Skopje – third place (2008); re-contextualization of the university campus “St. Cyril and Methodius” (2007-2008); project and exhibition Cultural Path / Skopje Navigator – Mladinski Kulturen Centar (2008); project for a new town-planning model of Shanghai (2009); exhibition “Convergence Divergence” – Exhibition planning centre – Beijing, curators of the exhibition: Qingyun Ma, Rem Koolhaas and Zaha Hadid (2009).


Since 2008 he works together with professor Boris Cipan with whom in the field of architectural projects he has created a number of projects for the future of the city Ohrid.
